Show notes, links, music and other stuff for Ep 30: Shock and AIR
This week’s episode title is a line from The Living End song Prisoner Of Society, the biggest independent single of the decade. Here’s the film clip they made first, before they signed a massive deal and made a second, more expensive film clip.
Photo notes
1 Shock’s founders, David Williams, Frank Falvo and Andrew McGee
2 The Shock staff with The Offspring, celebrating their #1 album

5 Frenzal Rhomb
6 Bodyjar

8 Mach Pelican
9 Scott Murphy of MDS
10 The first AIR compilation
Shock records
Look, there’s not much. This episode came from reading a lot of music industry magazines in the 90s. There’s no books about Shock, no videos or docos. It’s kind of a forgotten child. But it was a pioneering company.
There is good stuff for the bands.
The trailer for the upcoming Glide documentary.
Screamfeeder’s documentary came out earlier in 2024.
The Hi Cs video got them an MTV video award nomination. A one take bit of fun.
