Show notes, links, music and other stuff for Ep 22: You Am I
I wasn’t sure what to call this one. How Much Is Enough kind of fits with the story I tried to tell. That they did all the right things but luck was kind of against them.
Here’s an incredible version of that song, which is on their album Hi Fi Way
Above: Andy, Tim and Russ, circa 1995.
I was at this incredible Farewell to the World show. There has to be more footage out there.
In terms of books, You Am I can be found in The Sell-In and Hi Fi Days by Craig Mathieson. Tim Rogers also wrote a memoir called Detours in 2017. It’s very much a memoir and not an autobiography. It’s funny and touching and heartbreaking much like a lot of his music.
You Am I, in retrospect, were a great singles band. There’s so much variety, from the rockers to the ballads.
